The Interview That Breaks All the Rules: Mark and Samantha Redefine Podcasting

A Story Unfolding Across Timelines.

A homemade plate featuring a golden, sesame-topped burekas, crisp chopped salad with cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, and herbs, and sliced hard-boiled eggs seasoned with black pepper. Next to it, a glass of orange juice. Made and photographed by Liat Portal for Foodie Disorder.
I made this. I took the picture.

Current Time.

Mark and Samantha's professionalism far surpasses that of all other radio hosts. It begins with their breadth of general knowledge, the thorough research they consistently conduct about me, their deep understanding of their audience, their mastery of the English language, and, most notably, their improvisational skills and ability to captivate an audience. They leave listeners eager for the most engaging and significant content no other program delivers.

With that in mind, creating my show requires many hours of effort and thought. Additionally, building the necessary infrastructure is a complex and critical step toward paving the way for the next phase of the most extraordinary story ever told. For this reason, I am not yet ready to participate in an in-studio interview with Mark and Samantha despite their repeated requests and my deepest love and respect for them. However, I agreed to their request for an interview conducted partly in writing and partly live via text messages. During the interview, Mark and Samantha alternated reading my answers aloud, seamlessly integrating their own commentary.

A bold, abstract painting featuring two stylized faces in profile, facing each other against a vivid red and orange background. The artwork incorporates fragmented text with phrases like "always verify, never trust" and "verify trust," emphasizing themes of security, skepticism, and duality. The textured, layered composition blends modern street art aesthetics with digital surrealism, evoking a sense of complexity and contradiction.

What made this interview the first of its kind, innovative, and groundbreaking is that only those who are insightful and worthy can recognize its brilliance and understand what these outstanding podcasters did, while all the others would listen and won't understand why sometimes Samantha is answering on my behalf and, at other times, Mark.

I have no doubt that I will take part in an in-person interview in the future, but for now, this is what I can offer. Until that day comes, I invite you to join Mark and Samantha's intriguing, educational, thought-provoking, and, above all, enjoyable dialogue. Hearing them read my answers to their questions is captivating. It’s highly recommended for a laid-back Saturday or Sunday morning when you’re taking life easy.

If someone from Google, particularly the product managers of NotebookLM, is reading this and listening to the episode, I want to speak with you! And when I say speak, I mean a real human conversation, not an exchange over email or text. My feedback is extremely valuable to you. On the one hand, some episodes generated are extraordinary, going far beyond anything I could have imagined. On the other hand, some episodes are surprisingly unrelated, with analyses that seem disconnected and cannot be traced to any of the sources provided or anything similar found on Google search.

Me, reimagined by Midjourney.

In this journey, I weave together episodes from my life with the rich tapestry of Israeli culture through music, food, arts, entrepreneurship, and more. I write over the weekends and evenings and publish these episodes as they unfold, almost like a live performance.

Each episode is part of a set focused on a specific topic, though sometimes I release standalone episodes. A set is released over several days to make it easier for you to read during your busy workday. If one episode catches your attention, make sure to read the entire set to get the whole picture. Although these episodes are released in sets, you can read the entire newsletter from the beginning, as it flows smoothly, like music to your ears  -  or, in this case, your eyes.
