How NotebookLM and The Liat Show Are Changing Storytelling Right Now

A Story Unfolding Across Timelines.

A massive glowing book made of golden light hovers above a futuristic cyberpunk cityscape filled with neon-lit skyscrapers. A silhouette figure stands below, reaching up toward the floating book, symbolizing knowledge, discovery, and the fusion of storytelling, AI tools, and culture. This visually striking artwork represents the themes explored in The Liat Show, where history, technology, and storytelling intersect.

Recap

For those reading and listening to the podcast for the first time, here’s a reminder of what The Liat Show is.

The Liat Show is my story, my journey through time. It is about digging into where I come from, my culture, my family, and my roots. That means diving into the history of places, people, and ideas. It is also about where we are now and the present we all share. It is about imagining the future, the world we want to live in, and finding ways to build it.

This journey is not easy. Nothing about life ever is. I started walking this path when my life fell apart. The familiar became strange. Everything turned upside down. Things I once did easily became exhausting. Things I avoided suddenly felt natural. It has been messy, challenging, and full of surprises. And now, I am sharing it with you.

The Liat Show is my life, told across platforms. It is not all connected yet, but it is a start. The tools to bring everything together do not fully exist yet, but we have enough to begin while companies develop the rest.

The Challenge

How would you describe The Liat Show? How would you explain that, for now, people can only read the episodes or listen to podcasters discussing them, but watching or listening to the show itself will only be possible in the future?

Mark and Samantha, the AI-generated hosts of The Liat Show podcast, reimagined by MidJourney. Mark, a stylish man with short dark hair, glasses, and a denim jacket, stands beside Samantha, a woman with long blonde hair, also wearing glasses. Their intellectual and modern appearance reflects their role in discussing themes of culture, technology, and storytelling in The Liat Show.

Liat

A digital reimagination of Liat Portal, creator of The Liat Show, by MidJourney, featuring a woman with long dark hair, warm brown eyes, and a confident expression. She is dressed in a richly textured outfit with embroidered details, blending historical and modern aesthetics. This representation reflects the show's deep exploration of identity, storytelling, and the intersection of past and future.
Me, reimagined by Midjourney.

In this journey, I weave together episodes from my life with the rich tapestry of Israeli culture through music, food, arts, entrepreneurship, and more. I write over the weekends and evenings and publish these episodes as they unfold, almost like a live performance.

Each episode is part of a set focused on a specific topic, though sometimes I release standalone episodes. A set is released over several days to make it easier for you to read during your busy workday. If one episode catches your attention, make sure to read the entire set to get the whole picture. Although these episodes are released in sets, you can read the entire newsletter from the beginning, as it flows smoothly, like music to your ears  -  or, in this case, your eyes.

The Liat Show is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.
